Great Randomness

The greatest thing you will ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return. I don't know where this quote originated but I remember it from the little drunken midget in moulon rouge.

It really isn't that simple though, perhaps it would be if we as humans had never learned to hate, but it seems to be conditioned into the core of our soul. Hate must be an evolutionary adapted trait originating from competition for scarce resources, sex and food. But humans are pack animals, so although we hate one another, it is also true the human depends on one another to survive, so we also evolved to love.

I think of things like emotion and I wonder if my ideas of evolution are just completely wrong, but I would love to argue that all emotions that the human species possess today are a result of the simple process of natural selection, any emotion, any social order are all products of what was once a necesstiy to the survival of our species.

Perhaps it is time we as a human species took a look at our emotions and our social order from the perspective of a spring cleaner. Throw out the old worthless ones that are just taking up space, and polish the good ones. If the idea of hate evolved in our species, then I would argue that it is entirely possible for the idea of hate to become extinct.

We need nothing more than a conscious effort by the entire human species to choose, Love. That's it, quite simple. The greatest leaders have been preaching this for a couple millennium's perhaps that is why their message lives... but that is a topic for another blog.

So that is it, that's the great calling that would result in a much happier human race: stop fucking hating each other and start loving.

Peace!
